Glenn D. Bellitto, Eastchester Town Councilman, who passed away at the very beginning of the COVID pandemic in April 2020, will always be remembered for dedicating his life to the service of others. Beginning in his youth raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, his passion for community service only grew stronger throughout the years. He dedicated his time to a wide range of causes, including the homeless, senior citizens, veterans, the environment and many more.
Glenn experienced the most tragic of losses when his 19 year-old son, Gage, died from an opioid overdose in 2017. He was then determined to help others by openly and bravely sharing his story in the hope that it would remove the stigma of addiction and encourage those affected to never give up. And in so doing, he found a way to channel his grief into a mission of service. The Crimson Courage Scholarship is a celebration of the next generation of compassionate, service-minded individuals. Scholarship Amount: $5,000 |
